Corporate Social Responsibility
Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outlines our efforts to be an ethical and responsible business.
Positive social change is at the heart of our business
We want our team to work in a safe and positive environment. This includes supporting social and ecological causes outside of the workplace.
BDI’s social responsibility falls under two categories: compliance and proactiveness.
When referring to compliance, BDI means our company’s commitment to community values and the law.
Proactiveness refers to initiatives to promote human rights, help communities, and protect the environment.
Compliance
Legality
BDI will: respect the law, honour internal policies, ensure that all business operations are legitimate, and keep every partnership and collaboration open and transparent.
Employee Protection
We ensure that the health and safety of our employees and local community are not put at risk. This involves following the latest COVID-19 safety recommendations and encouraging our employees not to take unnecessary risks. We also support diversity and inclusion policies and create a safe workplace for individuals with protected characteristics.
Human Rights
BDI is dedicated to protecting human rights. We are a committed equal opportunity employer and abide by fair labour practices. We also ensure our activities do not directly or indirectly violate human rights in any country.
Business Ethics
We will always conduct business with integrity and respect, especially around human rights. BDI will promote fair and safe dealing, respect towards the consumer, and anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices.
Environmental Matters
BDI recognises the importance of protecting the natural environment. We, therefore, ask all our employees and partners to follow our environmental policy.
This includes wholly complying with the requirements of current environmental legislation and codes of practice to reduce pollution. We also ensure all our employees understand our environmental policy and contribute to our high standards.
Proactiveness
Preserving the Environment
Aside from following the legal obligations surrounding environmental rights, BDI proactively protects the environment. This includes reducing personal waste such as single-use plastic, as well as minimising energy use in the office.
Supporting Personal Development
All BDI employees are encouraged to regularly attend seminars and workshops for their personal development. We believe our team becomes stronger as individuals develop their skills. We are open to suggestions from our team and listen carefully to ideas. BDI will try to continuously improve the way it operates.
